Law Firm Web Design

Website Design for Law Firms

Legal work rarely gets bought on impulse. Someone facing a property settlement, a contract they don't trust, or a will they have put off for years will look at three or four firms, read a little, and rule out the ones that feel hard to approach. Hidden fees, stock photography and practice area pages written in legalese all cost you that shortlist spot. We build law firm websites that explain the work in language a client understands, put your people and your pricing where they can be seen, and make first contact feel like a small step rather than a commitment.

Why it matters

Why the shortlist gets decided before anyone rings you

Most legal enquiries start with a search and end with a phone call, and everything in between happens on your website. In those few minutes a prospective client is working out three things: whether you handle their kind of matter, whether you will be straight with them about cost, and whether they can picture talking to you. A dated site, a form that asks for their life story, or a page that reads like a firm profile instead of an answer will lose to the competitor who made those three things obvious.

What's included

Built around how your customers actually search and book

Practice areas written for clients, not colleagues

A page for each area you take on (conveyancing, wills and estates, commercial, family) in plain English, so someone can tell in ten seconds whether you deal with their problem.

Fees and scope in the open

Fixed fees, a capped first consultation, or an honest explanation of what drives the cost. Being the firm willing to publish a number wins enquiries from the firms that will not.

Solicitor profiles that build confidence

Year of admission, areas of practice, a real photograph and a line in their own voice. Clients hire a person, and the team page is where that choice is made.

A low-commitment first step

A short enquiry form or callback request on every page, asking only what you need to open a file. Nobody wants to type their whole matter into a text box before saying hello.

Compliance built in from the start

Professional standards liability wording, privacy and disclaimer pages, and copy kept clear of anything that reads as a guarantee of outcome.

Local Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) for practice area plus suburb searches

On-page Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and local schema tuned for the searches that bring in work, like "[suburb] conveyancing solicitor", rather than chasing the word "lawyer" on its own.

Watch

Three law firm concepts, one idea underneath

Every law firm website says the same three things. Trusted. Experienced. Committed to excellence. Not one of them tells you what anything costs. So I designed three that do.

The Kitchen Table: "The lawyer you'd want living next door." Warm navy and slate, plain-English copy, a fixed fee quoted up front, and a callback form that doesn't read like a legal document.

The Front Page: "Big-firm rigour. Small-town phone number." Editorial and authoritative, with full-bleed photography, a serif voice, and practice areas laid out as numbered rows.

The Quote Desk: "Know what it costs before you say yes." Conversion first. Fees sit in the hero next to the quote form, followed by three steps and an FAQ. Nothing is hidden behind "contact us".

Different looks, same idea: say it in plain English, put a number on the page, and give people one obvious next step. Someone choosing a solicitor is usually anxious and comparing two or three firms. Being told the price helps with both.

FAQ

Common questions

Can you write the practice area pages for us?

Yes. We draft from a conversation about the work you take on and the questions clients ask you most, then you review and correct it. If you already have content or precedents you like, we can build from those instead.

We're a sole practitioner. Is this overkill?

Not at all, and sole practitioners are often the best fit. The whole site can be built around one reputation and one clear way to get in touch, which is exactly what the three concepts above were designed for.

Will the site meet our advertising and professional standards obligations?

We include the liability limited scheme wording, keep claims measured, and flag anything that reads as promising a result. Final sign-off stays with you, since the rules vary by state and by practice area.

Are you only taking on Gold Coast firms?

Carrara is where we are, but location makes little difference to this kind of project. Most of it runs over email and a handful of calls, and we build for clients well outside south east Queensland.
