Website Redesign, Gold Coast
If your website is a few years old, slow to load, or simply doesn't reflect what your business has become, you don't necessarily need to start over. A redesign keeps what's already working (your domain, your search history, the content that's still accurate) and rebuilds what isn't. We're a small studio based in Carrara, and redesigns are one of the things we do most.
Signs your website needs a redesign
Most people know something isn't right long before they can say what. It's usually one of these four, and each one points to a different fix, which is why we look before we quote.
It looks like it was built years ago
Design dates faster than most owners expect. A site that looked current when it launched can quietly start signalling "this business might not still be going", which is the last thing you want a new customer thinking.
It's slow, especially on a phone
Most people will meet your business on a phone, on mobile data, with limited patience. If pages take a few seconds to appear, a good portion of those visitors leave before they see anything at all.
It gets visitors but not enquiries
Traffic that never turns into a phone call or a form usually means the site explains what you do but never asks for the next step, or buries it somewhere nobody looks.
You can't update it yourself
If changing a price or an opening hour means emailing someone and waiting, the site slowly drifts out of date, and out-of-date information costs you more than dated design does.
Diagnose first, then rebuild
A redesign starts with an honest look at what's actually holding the current site back: design, speed, mobile usability, or just an unclear message. That matters, because the answer decides how much needs to change. Your domain and its search history are worth protecting, and so is any content that's already doing its job. We keep those and rebuild around them, rather than starting from zero and quietly throwing away rankings you spent years earning. Most redesigns are live within a few weeks, with as little disruption to your existing traffic as we can manage.
Modern Blinds, Southport
Modern Blinds came to us with a site that hadn't been touched in years and didn't reflect their showroom or their range. Rather than a ground-up rebuild, we redesigned it into a clean, image-led layout structured around how customers actually shop for blinds, and improved the on-page Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) alongside it.
Testimonials: Reviews were collapsed into an accordion nobody opens, sharing the page with a comment form. Now they're the page.

About: A stock bedroom photo and a wall of text became their actual shopfront, shot on Jackman Street.

“Our old website hadn’t been touched in years and it showed. Robert rebuilt it from the ground up. It loads fast, looks sharp on a phone, and actually explains what we do. We’ve had customers mention the site when they call to book a consultation, which never happened before. Couldn’t be happier.”

Blue Nova, this website
In October 2026 I redesigned this site's homepage using the same approach I take with clients: keep the services, the prices and the search history, and change what a visitor sees before they decide to scroll.
Homepage: No reviews on the page and past work shown as three text cards. Now a Google review sits beside the headline, four cards point to each service, and every site is shown as a screenshot.

A Southport redesign, before and after
Modern Blinds have been selling blinds, shutters and curtains in Southport for years. Their website wasn't doing them any favours.
Their customer reviews were collapsed into an accordion nobody opens, sharing a page with a comment form. Now they're the page. Their About page led with a stock bedroom photo and a wall of text, so we replaced it with their real shopfront on Jackman Street.
The rest of the rebuild followed how people shop for blinds: structured by product type, photography doing the talking, built mobile first because that's where their traffic comes from, and one clear next step on every page to book a free in-home consultation.
This was a redesign, not a rebuild from scratch. They kept their domain, their search history and the content that still held up, which is why it cost less than starting over.
This site, before and after
I buried my best proof. The old Blue Nova homepage had no reviews on it at all, and my finished sites sat at the very bottom as three cards without a single picture. So I rebuilt it.
Before: a big headline and a reel. Nice type, one video, two buttons. Nothing on the first screen said who I had built for, or what they thought of the result.
After: proof on the first screen. A Google review from a real client now sits beside the headline, and under it four cards ask what brought you here: a new site, a redesign, SEO or hosting.
Further down, a slider turns Modern Blinds' old About page into the one I built, every live site and design concept shows a real screenshot, and there is a photo and a name for the person building it.
Same services, same prices. The difference is what a visitor sees before they decide to scroll.
Redesign, or a full rebuild?
They're not the same job, and the wrong one costs you either money or time. If the bones of your site are sound, a redesign is usually faster and cheaper. If the platform itself is the problem, patching it tends to cost more over the long run. We've written up how to tell the difference.
