Gold Coast Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Services, Gold Coast

We start every Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) job with an audit. It is a fixed price, quoted before anything begins, and the report is yours whether or not you hire us for the work that follows. It tells you what your site is doing well, what is holding it back, and which fixes are worth paying for. Some of them you can do yourself in an afternoon, and we will point those out rather than quietly adding them to a quote. We are a small studio in Carrara, not an agency selling monthly retainers, so the audit is how the conversation starts.

Where it goes wrong

Why local businesses stay invisible

Four things account for most of it, and none of them require a rebuild to fix. Which one you are dealing with changes the job completely, which is why we look before we quote.

Your Google Business Profile is carrying the whole business

For a lot of Gold Coast trades and shopfronts, the profile ranks and the website does nothing. That holds up until a customer opens both yours and a competitor's, and the competitor has a site that backs the profile up with prices, photos and answers.

The site was built to look good, not to be found

Page titles left as "Home" and "Services". Headings picked for their size rather than what they say. One thin paragraph on the page that should be selling your main service. None of that is a design failure, but all of it decides what Google can work out about you.

You rank for your own business name and nothing else

Typing your name into Google and seeing yourself first proves Google can read your sign. The searches worth having are the ones where the customer has a problem and has never heard of you, and those are the ones you have to earn.

Nobody has opened Search Console

Google will tell you, free, which searches you appear for, what position you sit at, and which of your pages it has refused to index. On most sites we audit, nobody has ever logged in, so problems that take an hour to fix have been sitting there for a year.

Where it starts

The audit comes first, and it is a real document

Most Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) enquiries on the Gold Coast end in a proposal built on a five minute look at your homepage. Ours ends in a written report on your site specifically, with the findings ranked by what they are worth. It is a fixed price, quoted before we start, so you know what the report costs before you ask for it. If you read it and decide to hand the list to someone else, or work through it yourself, that is a fine outcome and the report is still yours.

What the audit covers

  • The searches your customers are using, and where your site currently sits for each one
  • What Search Console has been recording, including any pages Google has refused to index and why
  • Page titles, headings and structure, page by page, with the rewrite suggested rather than just the fault named
  • Load speed on a phone on mobile data, which is how most of your customers will meet the site
  • Your Google Business Profile compared against the three businesses ranking above you
  • The handful of fixes worth doing first, and which of those you can do yourself without paying anyone
The work itself

What we fix once you have the findings

Not every job needs all of this. The audit decides the order and the scope, and anything that will not earn its keep on your site gets left out of the quote.

Technical foundations

Page speed, mobile layout, indexing, the sitemap, redirects and structured data. Unglamorous work, and it is usually where the first movement comes from because it clears the obstacles rather than adding anything new.

Titles, headings and page structure

One page, one job. Every page gets a title and a heading that match what someone would type to find it, written in the words your customers use rather than the words your industry uses internally.

Local search and your Google Business Profile

Primary category, service areas set to the suburbs you actually drive to, photos, posts, and a review request built into the end of every job. Your name, address and phone number matched across the site, the profile and the directories.

Pages for the services you sell

A single services page listing eight things cannot rank for eight searches. Where the volume justifies it, the big ones get a page each, written properly rather than spun out to hit a word count.

Reporting you can read

Position and impressions straight out of Search Console, in plain English, with the ones that moved and the ones that did not both shown. No dashboard full of metrics chosen because they only ever go up.

Why one "we serve the Gold Coast" page ranks for nothing

Nobody types "website design" into Google. They type "web designer Robina" or "website Palm Beach." Google treats every one of those as a different search, so one page saying "we serve the Gold Coast" doesn't rank for any of them.

So I shipped seven new suburb pages to this site in a single Saturday, each written for that suburb. The sitemap was resubmitted, redirects cleaned up, and titles and schema done properly. A free Google Business Profile guide went live at the same time, with no email wall.

If you run a Gold Coast business and you're not sure what your own site is missing, send it over. I'll tell you what's holding it back and quote what it would cost to fix.

In practice

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is part of how we build, not an upsell afterwards

Every site we build gets the structure, speed and local setup done as part of the job. Modern Blinds in Southport is the clearest example: the redesign and the on-page Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) were the same piece of work, because splitting them would have meant rebuilding pages twice.

“Robert recently built me a website for my multimedia company and I’m absolutely blown away with the results. I had an idea of how I wanted the website to look and Robert was able to bring my vision to life. He was extremely attentive to any amendments I wanted made to the website and also offered suggestions for things to add to improve the website’s Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). I’d happily recommend Robert and his services.”

What we will not do

We do not buy links, and we will not put your business next to the sites that sell them. We do not guarantee positions, because nobody outside Google is in a position to. We do not send reports built out of metrics that only ever go up. And we will not take on Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) work for a site that cannot carry a ranking without saying so first, even when the honest answer is a smaller invoice than the alternative.

FAQ

Questions we get asked about Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

How long before I see anything?

Technical fixes and a properly set up Google Business Profile can shift local results within a few weeks. Ranking for competitive Gold Coast search terms is a six to twelve month job. Anyone promising faster is either guessing or selling you ads under another name. At audit stage we will tell you which of your target searches are realistic inside a year and which are not worth chasing yet.

What does it cost?

The audit is a fixed price, and it is yours to keep and act on whether or not you hire us for anything else. If you want us to do the work, the quote comes off the audit findings, priced as a defined piece of work rather than an open-ended monthly retainer. You will know the number before anything starts.

Can you guarantee first page on Google?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Nobody outside Google controls those results, and the honest version of this job is improving the things that are known to matter and then measuring what happens. What we can promise is that you will see the same Search Console numbers we do, so you are never taking our word for whether it worked.

Do I need a new website before any of this is worth doing?

Often not. Plenty of sites need their titles, structure and speed sorted out and nothing more. If the platform itself is the problem and no amount of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) will carry it, the audit will say so, which is a cheaper way to find out than paying for six months of work on a site that cannot hold a ranking.

I already get most of my work from word of mouth. Is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) worth it?

Referrals still get checked online before anyone calls. When someone passes your name on, the next thing that happens is a search for it, and what they find decides whether they ring you or keep asking around. Even for a referral business, being findable and credible in that search is doing real work.

Are you locking me into a contract?

No. There is no lock-in and no minimum term. Most clients start with the audit, do a defined block of work off the back of it, and then decide whether ongoing help is worth it once they have seen the first set of numbers.

Find out what is holding your site back

Send us your web address and the searches you want to win. We will come back with a fixed price for the audit and an honest view on whether those searches are within reach this year.
